Reviewed on The Lens

Somehow, in the excitement of last week, we missed a review by Robert Hunt on The Lens, the dual blog of St. Louis Beacon and Cinema St. Louis.

We're very pleased by the results, which you can read here.

Jon Writes About the Films

Associate producer Jon Scorfina spends a good chunk of his week at the business that co-sponsored our SLIFF showing, Star Clipper in U. City. We thank Star Clipper for the support!

The store's got a blog, dedicated to new products and the like and Jon's done a really sweet write-up about the construction of "Old Dog" and "Pride."

You can read the piece here.

Review on PlaybackSTL.com

We thank Jason Green for a very nice review of the film(s) at PlaybackSTL.com.

He writes in part: "Ask someone to define the local music scene in St. Louis and they'll likely think it either kickstarted in the ‘90s during the rise of the Urge, Gravity Kills, and Pointessential compilations, or never existed outside of the '50s heyday of Chuck Berry, Miles Davis, and Ike Turner. But what's often overlooked is the vibrant local scene of the 1970s, when the nascent KSHE-95 helped birth the AOR radio format and gave a home to a wide slew of St. Louis-based rock bands. A pair of new documentaries screening during this year's St. Louis International Film Festival aims to change that oversight."

Here's the full review.

Mike Steinberg on KSDK

The Heidi Glaus-produced piece at KSDK.com is up. And, in addition to the video, the piece has the hallmark of a modern, online journalism: a testy comments thread!

Don't know how long these stay live, but here's the coverage.

"Old Dog"/"The Pride" Media Mania, cont.

Not sure it's the most complimentary description ever, but (hey!) press is press is press. Joe Williams of the Post-Dispatch cites the duo as "Best Documentary About a '70s Footnote," in a recent edition of GO.
